Teaching
Hands-on learning for teams and students in folding, design, and visualization: delivered through academic lectures, corporate sessions, visits in institutions and custom trainings. Backed by ten years of university teaching, Lisa’s workshops offer a calm and tactile environment, intense know-how and real skill building.
Academic Folding Lectures.
For over a decade, Lisa has led folding workshops at universities, tailored for students of design, architecture and fashion.
Folding Workshop: Geometry and Paper
Over 2 - 4 days, students explore the basics of origami, geometric folding techniques, and the logic of crease patterns, combining theory with hands-on practice. Topics include the applications of folds, digital simulation and fabrication methods. The students are discovering how geometric folds can open, twist and transform. Each participant transforms and designs their own crease pattern.
Advanced Workshop: 3D-Printing Geometric Folds
In this experimental workshop, Lisa guides students through using 3D printing as a tool for folding, exploring how geometric folds can be prototyped beyond paper. Through hands-on sessions and the latest research, students test techniques such as printing flat crease patterns onto flexible textiles, or generating 3D fold models in various stages of transformation. The result is a fresh perspective on foldability and material expression through rapid prototyping.

Teambuilding & Custom Workshops.
You can book my workshops either as an individual or as a group event, such as a team-building activity or as an inspirational input for your design agency. Short folding workshops are screen-free and purely analogue, you’ll work entirely with your hands and fingertips. This offers instant relief from the daily screen time most people experience. Longer workshops are more in depth and I offer inspirational in-depth presentations. Get in touch if you’d like a customized workshop.

Fold a Lampshade - Initiative Architektur
As a collaboration between the Initiative Architecture and Lisa Klingersberger, she held a folding workshop in the Architekturhaus Salzburg. November 202
Exploring Curved Folds - University of Arts Linz
In a day the students of Industrial Design and me explore the technique of curved folds. The workshop is for advanced folders, who already took part in the 4 days folding workshop. Linz, February 2022
PaperPlus - Initiative Architektur
How can kids play with paper and what would they build with it? In a half day workshop I experimented with kids and paper using different techniques like folding, crumbling, scoring, cutting and gluing. Architekturhaus Salzburg, September 2021, 2022, 2025
Dynamic Foldables Pavillon - University of Technology Vienna
In 2020 I was part of a teaching team, that supported the students of the TU Vienna to design a folded Pavillon. The initial aim was to make prototypes and a really scale pavilion at Karlsplatz in Vienna, but due to the circumstances the outcome was a digital version. In a VR walkthrough you could experience the pavilion and learn about its simulated folded structure, materials and details. Vienna, March - June 2020
Re:Post Generator - Austrian Post and Poolbar Festival
The topic of the Re:Post Generator was to design new products made out of old uniforms of the Austrian Post using the process of upcycling. Students of different Universities came together and developed their ideas in a 10 days workshop, which I was leading. The generator was organized by the Poolbar Festival and supported by the Biorama Magazine. Vienna, February 2020
Folding and Design - Poolbar Festival
Talk in the MusuemsQuartier Vienna, February 2020
Folding Workshop - University of Technology Vienna
In a 4 days folding workshop I was teaching the students of Architecture at the TU Vienna the basics of origami, different folding techniques and how they could be applied in design. Each student designs his/her own folding structure and folds it with a big piece of paper. Vienna, Oktober - November 2019
Product Design Generator - Poolbar Festival
Every Year the Poolbar Festival designs itself new within the Poolbar Generator. In a week new design, graphics, architecture, visual and public art are made. In 2018 the product design generator was lead by me and the students from various Universities developed with me a picknick backpack, a magazine display and the trophy for the Vorarlberg Music Prize „Sound@V“ featured by the ORF. Bregenz, February and March 2019

Folding Workshop - University of Arts Linz
In a 4 days folding workshop I teach the students of Industrial Design and other departments the basics of origami, different folding techniques and how they could be applied in design. Each student designs his/her own folding structure and folds it with a big piece of paper. Linz, since 2016 nearly yearly
