Workshops & Education

“When you fold, the ritual and the act of creation is more important than the final result. When your hands are busy your heart is serene.” Akira Yoshizawa

Teambuilding through Folding

Step away from the screen and into a shared creative moment.

This mindful workshop invites your corporate team to slow down, focus, and reconnect, through the simple yet powerful act of folding. Guided by geometric folding techniques, participants craft with their fingertips, building presence, patience, and a sense of quiet collaboration.

Held in my Salzburg studio (max. 8 people) or on-site at your company (max. 12), each session ends with a folded interior piece to take home.

The duration is 1.5–2 hours and all materials are included.

Academic Folding Workshops

For over a decade, Lisa has led folding workshops at universities, tailored for students of design, architecture and fashion.

Paper Geometric Folding

Over 2 - 4 days, students explore the basics of origami, geometric folding techniques, and the logic of crease patterns, combining theory with hands-on practice. Topics include the applications of folds, digital simulation and fabrication methods. The students are discovering how geometric folds can open, twist and transform. Each participant transforms and designs their own crease pattern.

3D-Printing Geometric Folds

In this experimental workshop, Lisa guides students through using 3D printing as a tool for folding, exploring how geometric folds can be prototyped beyond paper. Through hands-on sessions and the latest research, students test techniques such as printing flat crease patterns onto flexible textiles, or generating 3D fold models in various stages of transformation. The result is a fresh perspective on foldability and material expression through rapid prototyping.

Studio Workshops

In her Salzburg studio, Lisa hosts intimate folding workshops open to anyone curious about working with their hands.

These sessions offer a mindful introduction to geometric folds and no experience is needed. In a calm, focused atmosphere, each participant folds their own sculptural interior piece to take home.

Small groups, quiet concentration, and the joy of creating something lasting with your fingertips.

Duration: 2 hours, all materials included. Upcoming dates announced soon.
